The GST Network (GSTN) released the March 2025 GST collection report on April 1, 2025. According to the advisory, the total GST collected for the month was Rs.1,96,141 crore, up from Rs.1,83,646 crore in February 2025.
The March 2025 GST collection has gone up in comparison with the previous month. The monthly GST collection for March 2025 shows a growth of 9.9% compared to the previous month when it was 9.1% Year-on-year (YoY) basis.
The March 2024 collection stood at Rs.1,78,484 crores per the same report.
The key components of March include CGST at Rs.38,145 crores, SGST at Rs.49,891 crores, IGST at Rs.95,853 crores, and Cess at Rs.12,253 crores. Domestic Transactions witnessed a Yo-Y drop of 8.8%, while revenues from imports rose by 13.5%.
The government also released the state-wise GST collections for March 2025. Maharashtra again leads the states in absolute gross monthly revenue, followed by Karnataka, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu.
Andaman & Nicobar Islands ,Tripura, Bihar, Lakshadweep, Meghalaya, and Goa, showed impressive growth in March 2025, i.e. over 20%.
Key contributors to monthly revenue, such as Maharashtra and Karnataka, reported growth of 14% and 4%, respectively.

To conclude, there has been a good momentum seen in the monthly GST collections as per details in the report We expect the April 2025 collections to close at a higher range being financial year-end closure with annual reconciliations and adjustments expected from the taxpayers.
