Jagananna Vidya Kanuka - Eligibility, Benefits, & Documents Required

The Andhra Pradesh (AP) government launched a new scheme, i.e. Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme, for helping all of the government schools that are finding it difficult to distribute uniforms and bags among the poor children. The AP government will provide uniforms, a set of notebooks, textbooks, shoes and socks, a belt and school bags to all students from class 1 to 10 studying in government schools.

The Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme provides many benefits to the students who cannot go to schools because they do not have the adequate resources to buy uniforms or other basic necessities required for joining schools. Many students drop out of government schools due to financial constraints for buying textbooks, notebooks, etc. This scheme provides these students with basic necessities to enable them to attend schools. 

The Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme will be helpful for all of the poor students of the state of AP as all the basic necessities for attending schools are provided to students. Thus, it will encourage and facilitate students to attend schools who are unable to do so because of financial constraints.  

Eligibility Criteria for Jagananna Vidya Kanuka

All government school students studying in Class 1 to 10 are eligible to obtain benefits under this scheme. 

Benefits Under Jagananna Vidya Kanuka

Under the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme, the AP government provides a school kit or unit to every student studying from first to tenth class in government schools. The unit of school kit consists of:

• Three pairs of uniforms per student. 
• One school belt per student.
• Two pairs of school socks per student.
• One pair of school shoes per student.
• Notebooks and textbooks for the student.
• One school bag of the appropriate size is provided for a student to carry all of his/her books and textbooks.

The AP government will also provide free of cost bus transportation facilities to the students.

Application for Jagananna Vidya Kanuka

There is no separate application for the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme. The government schools of Andhra Pradesh state will distribute the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme kits to all school students. The government school students automatically get the benefits, so they need not apply anywhere to obtain benefits under this scheme.

Documents Required for Jagananna Vidya Kanuka

The students need not apply to obtain benefits under this scheme. However, they must possess certain documents for obtaining the school kit. The documents that the students need to have are as follows: 

• School certificate
• Passport size photo
• ID card
• Education certificate
• Aadhar card
• Aadhar card of parents
• Income certificate of parents
