The Sahara India Refund Portal enables eligible depositors to claim refunds online, subject to the latest claim limits and documentation requirements.
Launched on 18 July 2023, the Sahara Refund Portal provides a streamlined platform for depositors of four prominent cooperative societies to submit legitimate refund claims. The eligible societies include:
Since the launch of the Sahara Refund Portal, the Ministry of Cooperation has taken steps to protect depositors’ interests. Following a Supreme Court directive, ₹5,000 crore was transferred from the 'Sahara SEBI Refund Account' to the CRCS to disburse refunds to genuine depositors.
To claim a refund, depositors must provide proof of identity, claim details, and ensure their Aadhaar is linked to their mobile number. No fees are charged for claims. Claims are verified within 30 days, and depositors are notified via SMS within 15 days after verification, completing the process in 45 days.

Depositors must first register on the Sahara India Refund Portal to apply for their claim. Here are the steps to register on the Sahara India Refund Portal:
Step 1: Visit the Sahara Refund portal.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Depositor Registration’ tab.
Step 3: Enter the last 4-digits of your Aadhaar number, mobile number and captcha code and click on ‘Get OTP’.
Step 4: Enter the OTP and click on ‘Verify OTP’.
The registration will be complete.
Here is a detailed step-by-step guide to apply to get back your money after you register on the Sahara India Refund Portal:
Step 1: Visit the Sahara Refund portal.
Step 2: Log in to the Sahara Refund portal by clicking on the ‘Depositor Login’ tab and entering the last 4-digits of your Aadhaar number and mobile number, as well as the OTP received on your mobile number.
Step 4: Accept the UIDAI conditions and click ‘I Agree’.
Step 5: Enter the personal details and click ‘Next’.
Step 6: Enter your Aadhaar number and click ‘Get OTP’. Enter the OTP and click ‘Verify OTP’.
Step 7: On the next page, check the details fetched and auto-filled from Aadhaar, then click ‘Get Bank Name’. Once the bank details are fetched, click ‘Next’.
Step 8: Enter the necessary details on the next page and click ‘Add Claim’.
Step 9: The claim details will be displayed. Click on ‘Next’.
Step 10: On the next page, click on ‘Generate Claim Request Form’.
Step 11: The claim form will be displayed on the screen. Click on ‘Download Form’.
Step 12: Affix your latest photograph and signature on the claim form.
Step 13: Log in to the Sahara Refund portal and upload the filled claim form, enter the PAN number and upload documents on the portal.
Once you successfully upload the form, you will receive an acknowledgment number. An SMS will also be sent to your registered mobile number. The refunding process takes around 45 days. You will get the invested amount into your account directly.
You can download the Sahara Refund form by logging into the Sahara Refund portal, entering your personal and Aadhaar details, and clicking on ‘Generate Claim Request Form’.
The PDF of the Sahara India Refund form will be downloaded after you click on the ‘Generate Claim Refund Form’ button. You need to affix your photo and signature to the form and upload it on the Sahara Refund portal to complete the claim process.
After you have raised a claim for a refund on the Sahara Refund portal, you can check the Sahara refund status by following the steps below:
Step 1: Visit the Sahara Refund portal.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Depositor Login’ tab.
Step 3: Enter the last 4-digits of your Aadhaar number, mobile number and captcha code and click ‘Get OTP’.
Step 4: Enter the OTP and click ‘Verify OTP’.
Step 5: The login page will display the details and status of your claim.
The Sahara India Resubmission Portal was launched on November 15, 2023, to facilitate depositors for resubmission of their application where deficiencies and/or payment failures have been communicated and 45 days has lapsed since their refund application submission. Once resubmission application is submitted, the claims will be processed within 45 working days of the submission.
Below are the steps for application resubmission process:
Step 1: Visit the Sahara Resubmission portal.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Resubmission Login’ tab.
Step 3: Enter the Claim Request Number (CRN), captcha code and click ‘Validate’.
Step 4: Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar linked mobile number and click ‘Verify OTP’.
Step 5: Accept the UIDAI terms and conditions and click ‘Next’.
Step 6: Enter your Aadhaar number and click ‘Get OTP’. Enter the OTP and click ‘Verify OTP’.
Step 7: Your personal details will be displayed on the screen. Click on ‘Next’.
Step 8: On the next page, you will be able to see the ‘Processed Claims’ details and ‘Deficiency Communicated’ details, along with deficiency reasons.
Step 9: Click on the ‘Deficiency Communicated’ section and click the pencil icon under the ‘Action’ column to update claim details. Once claim details are updated, click on ‘Review and Resubmit’.
Step 10: Click on the ‘Upload Document’ section, fill in the required information and click ‘Next’.
Step 11: Review the summary and click ‘Yes’. Click on ‘Generate Claim Request Form’ to download the re submission form. Fill out the resubmission form, upload it by clicking on ‘Upload’ and click on ‘Ok, Proceed’ to submit the form.
You will receive the acknowledgment containing the resubmission CRN number.
