Seva Sindhu is an initiative of the government of Karnataka for delivering government services at the doorsteps of the citizens. The Seva Sindhu portal is integrated with several service delivery channels of the government of Karnataka and citizen service centres.

The Seva Sindhu portal is integrated with various citizen services centres like the Bangalore One, Karnataka One, Atalji Jana Snehi Kendra, Common Services Centre (CSC) Centers and Bapuji Kendras. It aims at bringing all the government departmental services on one platform.

The Seva Sindhu portal is a common citizen service portal that provides government-related services and other information on one platform. This portal is implemented under the e-District Mission Mode Project (MMP) of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications and IT.

Objectives of Seva Sindhu Portal

The objective of the Seva Sindhu portal is to provide government services in a faceless, cashless and paperless manner. It is a step towards delivering accountable, cost-effective, accessible and transparent government services to the citizens.

The Seva Sindhu portal also helps the department simplify processes by removing time-consuming, cumbersome and non-value-add steps, thus enhancing the citizen service delivery mechanism. It facilitates a hassle-free delivery service by minimising visits to avail services, reducing turnaround time and opportunity cost.

The various services and benefits available on the Seva Sindhu portal are as follow:

  • Provides helpful information like employment opportunities, local events, local news, etc
  • Creation and distribution of certificates for domicile, income, death, caste, birth, etc
  • Obtaining licenses like arms licenses, etc
  • Public Distribution System (PDS) services like issue of ration card, etc
  • Disbursement of widow pensions, old-age pensions, family pensions, etc
  • Filing complaints relating to absentee teachers, unfair prices, non-availability of doctors, etc
  • Online filing and receipt of information relating to the Right to Information Act (RTI)
  • Linking with other e-government projects of the state like registration, land records and driving licences, etc
  • Information dissemination about entitlements, government schemes, etc
  • Assessment of the property tax and other government taxes
  • Utility payment services like payments relating to water bills, electricity, etc
  • Filing application and disbursement of financial assistance to Film and Television artists

Seva Sindhu Portal Registration Process

The citizens can access the Seva Sindhu portal online from anywhere or through the identified service delivery centres at the district, taluk, sub-division or village level. The citizens/users need to register themselves on the Seva Sindhu portal to access and obtain the various services provided by the different departments to the citizens. 

The registration process of the Seva Sindhu Portal are as follows:

  • Visit the official website of the Seva Sindhu portal.
  • On the homepage, click on the option ‘New Users Register Here’.
  • It will open the page where the user needs to enter the Aadhaar Number and click on the ‘Next’ button to link with the ‘DigiLocker’.
  • The user will receive the OTP on the mobile number. The user has to enter the OTP and click on the ‘Continue’ button.
  • A page will appear asking for permission to access DigiLocker by the Seva Sindhu portal. The user needs to click on the ‘Allow’ button.
  • A page will open where the user will have to enter the ‘Email ID’, ‘Mobile Number’, ‘Password’, ‘Captcha’ and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  • A verification message will appear stating that a verification link along with the OPT will be sent to the email and mobile number of the user. 
  • After closing the verification message, the page will open where the user has to enter the OTP sent in the ‘Email ID’, enter the OTP sent on the ‘Mobile Number’ and click on the ‘Validate’ button.
  • Once the OTP is validated, a message will appear stating that the user has successfully registered on the Seva Sindhu portal.

After registering on the Seva Sindhu portal, the user can access and apply for the government services by visiting the Seva Sindu portal and clicking on the ‘Registered Users Login Here’ button on the homepage.

The ‘Registered Users Login Here’ button opens the ‘Apply for Service’ page. The user should log in by entering the mobile number or email ID and password and clicking on the ‘Submit’ button. This will open the ‘ServicePlus’ page where the user can apply or search to apply for any government service by clicking on the ‘Apply for Service’ button on the left-hand side of the page. 

The user can also track the status of the application, revalidate payment or modify submissions on the  ‘ServicePlus’ page by clicking on the ‘View Status of Application’ button on the left-hand side of the page.

The Seva Sindhu portal facilitates easy access to government services from anywhere in Karnataka. It brings the services of various departments to the doorsteps of the people. The citizens can apply for any service of the Seva Sindhu portal on the ServicePlus portal after registering on the Seva Sindhu portal. Thus, it helps the citizens avail of government services without going to government offices.
