Types of Ration Cards in Haryana

The Haryana Government issues several types of ration cards, which are as follows:

  • Below Poverty Line (BPL) Ration Card: Commonly known as the yellow ration card, this ration card is issued to individuals belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families as classified by the Haryana Government. 
  • Above Poverty Line (APL) Ration Card: This is the green ration card available to individuals who belong to the Above Poverty Line (APL) families as specified by the Haryana Government. 
  • Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card: Also referred to as the pink ration card, it is provided to the poorest families without a stable income source, as identified by the state government.
  • Other Priority Household (OPPH) Ration Card: Known as the khaki ration card, this is designed for specific beneficiaries who can avail 5 kilos of wheat each month.

How to Apply for Ration Card in Haryana?

Online Ration Card Application Procedure

To apply for a ration card online, follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to the Saral Haryana website.

Step 2: Sign in by entering your login ID and password. If you do not have a login ID and password, register on the website by clicking the link ‘New User? Register Here’ and entering the required details.

Step 3: Once logged in, select the ‘Apply for Services’ option and click on the ‘View all Available services’ option.

Step 4: From the list of available services, search and select ‘Issuance of New Ration Card’. 

Step 5: Complete the online form by providing all necessary information and uploading the required scanned documents.

Step 6: After filling out this form and attaching the relevant documents, click the ‘Submit’ button.

Offline Ration Card Application Procedure

Step 1: Go to the nearest district office of the Food and Civil Supplies Department office, Common Service Centre (CSC), or Atal Sewa Kendra.

Step 2: Obtain the ration card application form from the officials.

Step 3: Complete the form with accurate details and submit it with the required documents.

Step 4: Once the form is submitted, you will be given a receipt or slip with a date. 

Eligibility Criteria for Ration Card in Haryana

To qualify for a ration card in Haryana, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Haryana.
  • He or she should not possess another ration card.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum income must be below the certain threshold specified by the government for BPL and APL families. 
  • Households should not have motor vehicles, laptops, or members earning above the government-specified threshold for ration cards.

Step 4: Enter your Family PPP ID under the PPP scheme in the provided field.

Step 5: Enter the captcha code and click on the ‘Get Member Details’ button.

Step 6: The screen will display the status of your ration card.

By SMS

Step 1: Open your SMS app.

Step 2: In the message box, type SARAL<space> <Application ID/Ticket Number>.

Step 3: Send the SMS to 9954699899 from your mobile number registered with the Saral Haryana website.

Step 4: You will receive an update on the status of your application.

Haryana Ration Card Download

Follow these steps to download your Haryana ration card from the official website:

Step 1: Visit the EPDS Haryana portal.

Step 2: Click the ‘Citizen Corner’ option.

Step 3: Select on the ‘Search Ration Card’ option.

Step 4: Next, enter your Family ID in the provided field.

Step 5: Enter the captcha code and click on ‘Get Member Details’.

Step 6: Choose one family member from the list of members displayed. 

Step 7: Click the ‘Send OTP’ button to receive an OTP on your registered mobile number associated with your Family ID.

Step 8: Enter the OTP in the provided field and click ‘Verify’. 

Step 9: Once the OTP is verified, your ration card details will be displayed on the screen. You can then download and save it.

How to Add and Remove Name from Ration Card in Haryana?

If you need to update your Haryana ration card by adding or deleting a member, follow these steps:

To Add a Member

Step 1: Sign in to the Saral Haryana website by entering your credentials. 

Step 2: Click on the ‘Apply for Service’ option.

Step 3: Search and click on the ‘Modify Member Details in Ration Card’ service.

Step 4: Complete the form with the new member's details (e.g., name, date of birth, and relationship).

Step 5: Attach all required documents, such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate, or an affidavit.

Step 6: Review the details and click on ‘Submit’ to complete the process.

To Delete a Member

Step 1: Sign in to the Saral Haryana website by entering your credentials. 

Step 2: Click on the ‘Apply for Service’ option.

Step 3: Search and click on the ‘Modify Member Details in Ration Card’ service.

Step 4: Complete the online form with the necessary details of which member to remove.

Step 5: Attach the necessary documents, such as a death certificate (if applicable) or a proof of address change.

Step 6: Review all the information and click on 'Submit' to process your request.
