Here are the important details you should know while generating a demand draft with HDFC Bank:
DD Details
The following information must be entered to issue a demand draft in HDFC Bank:
Processing
HDFC Bank processes demand draft (DD) requests the next working day. The DDs are typically delivered to the provided mailing or beneficiary address within 3 to 5 working days via courier.
Delivery
HDFC Bank delivers demand drafts (DDs) to all locations across India. For generating DDs in cities like Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, and Sonepat, select New Delhi under the city and state fields in the “Payable at” section for accurate details.
Overseas Location
If a demand draft (DD) is requested from an overseas location or for a beneficiary address where DD delivery is unavailable, the draft is automatically cancelled, and the amount is credited back to your account. No charges are deducted in such cases.
Undelivered Demand Drafts
If a demand draft (DD) sent to a beneficiary address is undelivered, it is cancelled, and the amount is credited back to your account after deducting applicable HDFC Bank DD charges and other fees. For DDs sent to mailing addresses within India, undelivered drafts are cancelled and returned to the issuing branch.
