A demand draft is one of the most secure financial instruments for transferring money throughout the country. You can issue demand drafts to send large amounts across banks or even locations. PNB, or Punjab National Bank, offers several types of banking services, including the issuance of demand drafts.
This article explores the different types of PNB DD charges for issuing demand drafts and cancellations.
Here are the crucial details regarding the PNB DD, which you must be aware of before availing the service:
PNB Demand Draft Features
Punjab National Bank offers the facility of transferring funds across bank accounts by issuing demand drafts. Demand drafts are considered a secure mode of payment, wherein the said amount is debited from the customer’s accounts or the customer must pay the amount to the bank before issuance of the DD. This eliminates the risk of bouncing as the amount is prepaid.
Punjab National Bank demand drafts are issued in favour of a beneficiary, who can be an organisation or a specific person. The amount and date must be mentioned in the DD, along with the customer's signature.
PNB Demand Draft Issuing Process
You can request a PNB demand draft issuance online using this bank's retail internet banking. You can also get the PNB demand draft offline by visiting the bank branch. After you make the payment to the bank, you will receive a payment receipt from PNB.
To complete fund transfer, the beneficiary needs to present the demand draft at any PNB branch as per his/her location. PNB will clear the payment to the beneficiary only after verifying the authentication of the documents as submitted by them.
Demand Draft Cancellation
PNB allows its customers to cancel demand drafts they issued from the bank and get the paid amount back. You can do that by visiting your nearest PNB branch and requesting to cancel your demand draft. The bank will provide you with a demand draft cancellation form, which you need to fill out and submit to the bank. You will receive your paid amount back after the deduction of cancellation charges.
