How to Activate PNB ATM or Debit Card?

To conduct transactions via a Punjab National Bank (PNB) ATM or debit card, you need to activate your debit card by generating a four-digit PIN. You will need this PIN while depositing or withdrawing cash, performing online transactions, or conducting any other type of transaction. Once you enter the PIN, these transactions are considered valid. Keep reading to learn how to activate a PNB ATM card through different methods.

How to Activate the PNB Debit Card Through SMS?

You can activate your PNB debit card via SMS by sending the following the below steps:

Step 1: Send the following SMS to 5607040 or 9264092640 from your registered mobile number - DCPIN<space><cardnumber>. 

Step 2: Upon successful verification of your card credentials, the bank will send a 6-digit OTP to your PNB account registered mobile number. This OTP, also known as Green PIN,  will remain valid for 72 hours. 

Step 3: Activate the PNB ATM card via net banking, mobile app, ATM or customer care number using the 6-digit OTP within 72 hours.

How to Activate the PNB Debit Card Through Internet Banking?

Once you receive the 6-digit OTP by sending an SMS to the bank as provided above, you can activate your PNB ATM card via net banking by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Log in to the PNB net banking portal.

Step 2: Under ‘Value Added Services’, click on ‘Card Related Services’ and then select ‘Set/ Reset Debit Card PIN’ option.

Step 3: Next, provide your card number, its expiry date, and the 6-digit OTP received on your mobile number via SMS to the bank and click ‘Submit’.

Step 4: Enter the 4-digit ATM PIN for your debit card.

Step 5: Confirm the PIN by re-entering it and click ‘Submit’.

Your new PNB ATM PIN will be created, and the debit card will be activated successfully. 

How to Activate a PNB Debit Card Through the PNB App?

Here are the simplified steps you need to follow to activate your PNB debit card via the PNB One app after you receive the 6-digit OTP by sending the SMS as provided above.

Step 1: Install the PNB One App on your mobile phone and log in to it.

Step 2: Choose ‘Debit Cards’ and then ‘Generate Green PIN’.

Step 3: Select the account linked to your debit card.

Step 4: Enter your PNB debit card number, expiry date, and 6-digit OTP received on your mobile number via SMS.

Step 5: Enter your new 4-digit ATM PIN.

Step 6: Confirm your new PIN by entering it again and click ‘Submit’.

How to Activate the PNB Debit Card Through Toll-Free Number?

You can activate the PNB debit card via the bank’s toll-free number after receiving the 6-digit OTP by sending an SMS to the bank as provided above. Here are the steps you need to follow for debit card activation:

Step 1: Dial 1800-2021 or 1800-1800 through your mobile phone.

Step 2: Choose your preferred language.

Step 3: Select the option for ‘Debit card-related operations’ 

Step 4: Select the option to generate or validate OTP.

Step 5: Provide the 16-digit debit card number.

Step 6: Enter a unique 4-digit debit card PIN.

Step 7: Confirm the PIN by entering it again.

How to Activate a PNB Debit Card Through an ATM?

Follow the below steps to activate a new PNB ATM card  through an ATM after receiving the 6-digit OTP by sending an SMS to the bank as provided above.:

Step 1: Visit your nearest PNB ATM.

Step 2: Insert your PNB debit card into the nearest PNB ATM.

Step 3: Choose the ‘Create/Change PIN (GPIN)’ option and then select ‘OTP Generation/OTP Validation’.

Step 4: Enter the 6-digit OTP sent to your registered mobile number and press ‘OK’.

Step 5: Input your desired 4-digit PIN for your PNB ATM/debit card and press ‘OK’.

Step 6: Confirm your new PIN by entering it again and click ‘Submit’.

Your new PNB ATM PIN will be created, and you will see a confirmation message on the ATM screen.
