SBI debit card activation is the process of enabling a newly issued SBI debit card for secure banking and online transactions. Without activation, the card cannot be used for cash withdrawals, POS payments, or online shopping. Customers can activate their SBI debit card through online (internet banking/YONO/SMS) or offline (ATM/toll-free number) methods.
Note: Activating your SBI debit card and generating its PIN does not automatically enable online (e-commerce) transactions. As per SBI's card security settings, newly issued debit cards are enabled only for domestic ATM cash withdrawals and POS transactions by default. You can enable online, international, and contactless transactions through SBI Internet Banking, YONO, ATM, IVR, or your branch, if required.
