Anyone whose name is not included in the JK ration card list can apply for a new ration card. The entire process can be carried out online on the official portal of the Food and Civil Supplies Department of Jammu and Kashmir Government. Here are the steps involved:
Step 1: Go to J&K Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs website.
Step 2: Navigate to the top menu and click on ‘More’ followed by ‘Download Forms’ and ‘Forms for the General Public’.
Step 3: On the next page, you will see a list of ration card forms. Choose ‘Apply for New Ration Card Online’ among the options.
Step 4: Click on ‘Ok’ to get to the next page. There, click on ‘Sign up here’ to register as a new user.
Step 5: Select whether you are an existing ration cardholder or a new applicant. Then, enter the required details. Existing ration cardholders need to enter only their ration card numbers, while new applicants need to enter various details, including their name, Aadhaar number, mobile no., email ID, etc. Then, enter a login ID and password to register.
Step 6: Enter the captcha code, click on ‘Get OTP’, and enter the OTP sent to your given phone number.
