Types of Ration Cards in Jammu & Kashmir

The different types of ration cards in Jammu and Kashmir are as follows:

AAY Ration Cards  

The Antadaya Anna Yojana provides food grains at very low prices to the poorest of poor families in Jammu and Kashmir. This provides food security to the most vulnerable part of the state’s population.

Priority Household (PHH) Ration Card

PHH cards are specifically for families that belong to the priority category but are not covered by the Antodaya Anna Yojana. However, to avail of the benefits, ration cardholders in this group must meet the government’s income requirements. 

NPH (Non Priority Household) Ration Card

NPPH ration card is for families who do not come under the PPH or AAY category. It is issued only for identity purpose and no benefit is provided for these cardholders.  

Jammu & Kashmir Ration Card List 2025

Anyone can check the Kashmir and Jammu ration card list on the official website of the state’s Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. Here are the steps you should follow to check the 2025 ration card list:

Step 1: Go to the J&K RCMS website.

Step 2: Click on ‘Ration Card’ followed by ‘Ration Card Drilldown Report’. 

Step 3: Enter the captcha code as shown on your screen and click ‘Verify’.

Step 4: Select the district, DFSO, and type of ration card and click on ‘View Report’.

Step 5: You will see a list of DFSOs in the same region. Click on the relevant DFSO name. The TFSO names will be displayed. Click on the TFSO name of your area.

Step 6: Click on the FPS name to view all registered ration card beneficiaries and find your family details. 

How to Apply for a Ration Card in Jammu & Kashmir?

Anyone whose name is not included in the JK ration card list can apply for a new ration card. The entire process can be carried out online on the official portal of the Food and Civil Supplies Department of Jammu and Kashmir Government. Here are the steps involved:

Step 1: Go to J&K Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs website.

Step 2: Navigate to the top menu and click on ‘More’ followed by ‘Download Forms’ and ‘Forms for the General Public’.

Step 3: On the next page, you will see a list of ration card forms. Choose ‘Apply for New Ration Card Online’ among the options. 

Step 4: Click on ‘Ok’ to get to the next page. There, click on ‘Sign up here’ to register as a new user. 

Step 5: Select whether you are an existing ration cardholder or a new applicant. Then, enter the required details. Existing ration cardholders need to enter only their ration card numbers, while new applicants need to enter various details, including their name, Aadhaar number, mobile no., email ID, etc. Then, enter a login ID and password to register.

Step 6: Enter the captcha code, click on ‘Get OTP’, and enter the OTP sent to your given phone number. 

Step 7: Log in using your credentials and file an online application for a new ration card in Kashmir and Jammu. 

Eligibility Criteria for Ration Card in Jammu & Kashmir

Here are the essential requirements you must fulfil to apply for a new JK ration card:

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. 
  • They must not hold another ration card of any other state. 
  • New married couples and citizens with temporary ration cards can apply. 
  • Only the head of one’s family can apply for a ration card. Generally, the eldest female adult can become a family’s head. 
  • The head of an applicant's family must have a valid and seeded Aadhaar number.

  • Copy of Aadhaar card 
  • Identity proof (voter ID, PAN card, Aadhaar)

Step 1: Go to the J&K RCMS website.

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Ration Card’ tab located on the top menu and choose ‘Ration Card Search’. 

Step 3: Enter the captcha code and click ‘Verify’.

Step 4: Type in your Aadhaar number, and click on 'View Report' to search for your JK ration card status. 

Jammu & Kashmir Ration Card Download

You can easily download the JK ration card by following these simple steps: 

Step 1: Visit the DigiLocker website to access your digital ration card.

Step 2: If you are a new user, sign up by providing your name, mobile number, and date of birth, etc., and confirm via OTP. If you already have an account, simply log in.

Step 3: After logging in, type ‘Food and Civil Supplies Department, Jammu and Kashmir’ in the search bar and click on ‘Search’.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Food and Civil Supplies Department, Jammu and Kashmir’ tab and then on ‘Ration Card’ option.

Step 5: Enter your ration card number and district. Click on ‘Get Document’ to access your card.

Step 6: Your e-Ration Card will appear in the ‘Issued Documents’ section. Click on the download icon to download the PDF of your ration card.

How to Add and Remove Name from Ration Card in J&K?

To add or remove a name from a ration card in Jammu and Kashmir, you can proceed with the following:

To Add a Name:

Step 1: Obtain a name addition in ration card application form from the nearest Zonal or Mamlatdar office.

Step 2: Complete the application form by providing all required information and details.

Step 3: Gather all necessary documents and submit them along with the completed application form to the Zonal or Mamlatdar office.

To Remove a Name:

Step 1: Obtain a name deletion in ration card application form from the nearest Zonal or Mamlatdar office.

Step 2: Complete the application form by providing all required information and details, such as name to be removed, reason for removal, and ration card details.

Step 3: Gather all necessary documents, such as a death certificate for death, or address proof for relocation, and submit them along with the completed application form to the Zonal or Mamlatdar office.
