Step 2: Click on the ‘RC Details’ option.

Step 3: Enter the ration card number and click ‘Submit’.

Types of Ration Card in Andhra Pradesh

AP ration cards are issued based on income levels and family size. The main types of ration cards are:

I. White Ration Card

It is distributed to families classified as Below Poverty Line (BPL). The White Ration Card AP facilitates access to subsidised essential goods, ensuring that economically disadvantaged households can obtain fundamental food products.

II. Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card

These ration cards are meant for individuals with very low and unstable incomes.

III. Pink Ration Card

This is for families classified as Above Poverty Line (APL) in Andhra Pradesh. Though they do not get subsidies, this card is necessary for them as it acts as an identity for availing all the facilities and benefits provided by the government.

Note: Eligible Below Poverty Line (BPL) households are commonly issued the AP Rice Card, which functions as the state's digital food security card under the Aadhaar-enabled Public Distribution System (AePDS).

Eligibility Criteria for AP Ration Card

The eligibility criteria you must fulfill for the AP ration card are listed below:

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh.
• The applicant or any family member must not hold a family card in any other state in India.
• There must be no government employees or retirees in such households (except for all sanitary workers).
• The family must not be the owner of a four-wheeled vehicle (except for taxis, autos, and tractors).
• The family must not be liable to pay income tax.

How to Apply for an AP Ration Card?

Applying for an AP ration card is an easy process. You can do it seamlessly through the online mode. Alternatively, you can opt for an offline method if the online method does not sit well. Here are the two methods: 

I. Online Method

Step 1: Visit the MeeSeva portal. 

Step 2: Click on ‘Citizen Portal’. Login using your credentials. If you are a first time user, click on ‘New Registration’ to register and login to the portal.

Step 3: After logging in, click on ‘Issue of Ration Card’. 

Step 4: Fill out the ration card application form and upload the necessary documents.

Step 5: Review your application before clicking ‘Submit’ to finalise it.

Step 6: You will receive a reference number to track your ration card status.

II. Offline Method

Step 1: Get the ration card application form from the nearest ration shop or the Meeseva office.

Step 2: Fill out the form with the relevant information. 

Step 3: After filling out the form, you can submit it by visiting the nearest ration shop along with the required documents. 

Step 4: You will also receive a reference number after submitting the form to check the status of your ration card.

How to Check AP Ration Card Status?

The AP ration card status is available through the Andhra Pradesh Aadhaar-enabled Public Distribution System (AePDS), which is the official platform for ration card services.

Steps to check the AP ration card status online:

Step 1: Visit the Andhra Pradesh Food Department website.

Step 2: Click on the ‘RC Details’ option.

Step 3: Enter the ration card number and click ‘Submit’.

Step 4: The website will show you the card's status.

How to Download AP Ration Card?

Once your AP ration card is approved, you can proceed with AP ration card download through DigiLocker. This e-Ration card is valid for all official and government purposes. 

Here are simple steps to follow for the AP ration card download process:

Step 1: Visit the official DigiLocker website to access your digital ration card.

Step 2: If you are a new user, sign up by providing your name, mobile number, and date of birth, etc., and confirm via OTP. If you already have an account, simply log in.

Step 3: After logging in, type ‘Food and Civil Supplies Department, Andhra Pradesh’ in the search bar and click on ‘Search’.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Food and Civil Supplies Department, Andhra Pradesh’ tab and then on ‘Ration Card’ option.

Step 5: Enter your ration card number and district. Click on ‘Get Document’ to access your card.

Step 6: Your e-Ration Card will appear in the ‘Issued Documents’ section. Click on download icon to download the PDF of your ration card. 

How to Add and Remove Name from AP Ration Card?

Adding and removing a name in the Andhra Pradesh ration card is easy. Here is a detailed guide on how you can add and remove names in AP ration cards through the online process:

I. Add Name to AP Ration Card

Step 1: Visit the MeeSeva portal. 

Step 2: Click on ‘Citizen Portal’. Login using your credentials. If you are a first time user, click on ‘New Registration’ to register and login to the portal.

Step 3: After logging in, click on ‘Member Addition in Ration Card’. 

Step 4: Fill in the details of the new family member accurately in the online form.

Step 5: Upload the required documents, such as proof of identity and relationship and submit the form.

II. Remove Name from AP Ration Card

Step 1: Visit the MeeSeva portal. 

Step 2: Click on ‘Citizen Portal’. Login using your credentials. If you are a first time user, click on ‘New Registration’ to register and login to the portal.

Step 3:  After logging in, click on ‘Deletion of Member/Migration of Member in Ration Card’.

Step 4: Fill out the online application form, upload the required documents, and submit.
