Types of Ration Cards in Assam

After the implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013, the Assam Government issues these two types of ration cards:

Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card

The Assam government offers this type of ration card to poor families in the state with little or no income. It is applicable to the most vulnerable and economically disadvantaged sections of society.

Priority Household (PHH) Ration Card

This is issued to the families classified as priority households under the NFSA. It covers all priority groups and families Below Poverty Line (BPL).

Step 1: Visit the RCMS Assam website.

Step 2: Click the ‘Ration Card’ option and select the ‘Ration Card Details’ option. 

Step 3: Enter the captcha code and click ‘Verify’.

Step 4: Select district, DFSO, TFSO, FPS, scheme, status, sorting, RC status, and report name and click ‘View Report’.

Step 5: The ration card list with all details of all ration cardholders will be displayed on the screen.

How to Apply for Ration Card in Assam?

Follow these steps to apply for a new ration card in Uttar Pradesh:

Step 1: Go to the nearest Department of Food and Public Distribution (FPD & CA) office located in your district/ sub-district.

Step 2: Collect the ration card application form (Proforma – C).

Step 3: Fill out the application form with all relevant details, including your family and detailed information about your income.

Step 4: Keep your relevant documents ready and attach them. 

Step 5: Once you have completed filling out the form, submit it along with photocopies of the necessary documents to the (FPD & CA) office.

Step 6: You will be issued a receipt with an acknowledgement number. After verification, your ration card will be delivered to your respective address within a few weeks.

Step 1: Visit the official DigiLocker website to access your digital ration card.

Step 2: If you are a new user, sign up by providing your name, mobile number, and date of birth, etc., and confirm via OTP. If you already have an account, simply log in.

Step 3: After logging in, type ‘Food and Civil Supplies Department, Assam’ in the search bar and click on ‘Search’.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Food and Civil Supplies Department, Assam’ tab and then on ‘Ration Card’ option.

Step 5: Enter your ration card number and district. Click on ‘Get Document’ to access your card.

Step 6: Your e-Ration Card will appear in the ‘Issued Documents’ section. Click on download icon to download the PDF of your ration card. This digital version is valid and is an official equivalent to the physical ration card.

How to Add and Remove Name from Ration Card in Assam?

Follow the below process for the addition of a name to your ration card in Assam:

Step 1: Go to the nearest Department of Food and Public Distribution (FPD & CA) office located in your district/ sub-district.

Step 2: Collect the ration card name addition application form.

Step 3: Fill out the application form with all relevant details, including the ration card number, the name you want to add to your ration card, and the reason. 

Step 4: Prepare all relevant documents to attach to the application, such as a birth certificate, previous ration card surrender certificate, PAN card, or election card.

Step 5: Once you have completed filling out the form, submit it along with photocopies of the necessary documents to the (FPD & CA) office.

Step 6: You will be issued a receipt with an acknowledgement number.

Step 3: Fill out the application form with all relevant details, including the ration card number, the name you want to remove from your ration card, and the reason. 

Step 4: Prepare all relevant documents, such as a death certificate, PAN card, or election card, and attach them to the application.

Step 5: Once you have completed filling out the form, submit it along with photocopies of the necessary documents to the (FPD & CA) office.
