Healthcare expenses can be a significant burden, especially for economically weaker sections of society. To address this, the government of India launched the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) to provide financial assistance for medical treatment.

The Ayushman card is a key component of this initiative, offering cashless treatment to eligible beneficiaries at empanelled hospitals in India. In this article, we will provide a comprehensive overview of the Ayushman card, including its eligibility criteria, registration process, benefits and more.

What is Ayushman Card?

The Ayushman Bharat card is issued under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). It is linked to the Ayushman Bharat Health Account and facilitates easy access to quality medical services and benefits provided under the PMJAY.

The card ensures affordable and accessible healthcare for all eligible beneficiaries. It provides cashless and paperless access to secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation, covering up to Rs. 5 lakh annually per family.
