The GST collections for July 2025 was released on 1st August 2025 by the GST Network. July 2025 GST collection is Rs.1,95,735 crores. July 2025 collection has gone up as compared to the June 2025 GST collection which was Rs.1,84,597 crores.

Analysis of the GST Collections July 2025

  • The GST collections for July 2025 have increased compared to the previous financial year, showing a revived tax base and improved compliance levels.
  • Gross GST collections for July 2025 reached Rs.1,95,735 crore, which is higher than last month’s figures.
  • Year-on-year data indicates that July 2025 collections are 7.5% higher than those of July 2024, when they stood at Rs.1,82,075 crore.
  • Key components include CGST at Rs.35,470 crores, SGST at Rs.44,059 crores, IGST at Rs.1,03,536 crores, and Cess at Rs.12,670 crores.
  • Revenue from domestic transactions have grown by 6.7% year-on-year, while revenue from imports have seen a robust rise of 9.7%.
  • Refunds processed in July 2025 total Rs.27,147 crores, which include CGST refunds at Rs.3,317 crores, SGST refunds at Rs.4,542 crores, IGST refunds at Rs.18,661 crores, and cess refunds at Rs.627 crores.
  • The net GST collections for July 2025 are Rs.1,68,588 crore, reflecting a modest 1.7% growth over the previous year.
  • The comparatively lower GST collections noted in June 2025 were attributed to the non-festive season, with expectations of a pickup in subsequent months due to seasonal trends.
  • Anticipation is building for the upcoming 56th GST Council meeting, where rate slabs may be merged into fewer categories to simplify the overall tax structure.

GST Collections for July 2025 State-wise

The government also released the state-wise GST collections for July 2025. Maharashtra again leads the states in absolute gross monthly revenue, followed by Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Haryana.

Almost every state and union territory improved their GST collections during July 2025, except Chhattisgarh (-4%), Jharkhand (-3%), Jammu and Kashmir (-5%), Goa (-1%), Chandigarh (-5%), Manipur (-36%), Mizoram (-21%), Lakshadweep (-52%), and Other Territory (-4%).

Key contributors to monthly revenue, such as Maharashtra and Karnataka, reported a similar growth of 6% and 7% respectively.
