In Rajasthan, different types of ration cards are issued to families based on their annual income. Here is a detailed overview of the different types of ration cards in Rajasthan:
Families lying below the poverty line are provided BPL ration cards. These people usually come from economically weaker sections of society. They do not have any fixed income and are recognised as BPL families by the village assembly and municipality. In Rajasthan, BPL cards are pink in colour.
Families with a stable source of annual income can get APL ration cards, which are applicable to all general consumers of the state. These cards are of two different colours, and only citizens belonging to the specific category can get them. Citizens with double gas connections are issued a blue APL ration card, while those with single gas connection are issued a green APL ration card.
Families categorised as State BPL families by Gram Sabha or Municipal Corporation are issued state BPL ration cards. This ration card is dark green in colour.
