What is Telangana Ration Card?

A Telangana ration card, officially called the Food Security Card (FSC), is issued by the Telangana Government to eligible households under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). Besides enabling subsidised food grain distribution through Fair Price Shops (FPS), the ration card Telangana also acts as an eligibility document for several state welfare schemes. Types of Ration Cards in Telangana

The Telangana Government primarily issues the following types of ration cards Telangana:

I. Food Security Card (FSC)

Food Security Cards (FSC), also referred to as Priority Household (PHH) cards, are issued to eligible low-income families covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

Eligibility generally includes:

  • Annual household income below ₹1.5 lakh in rural areas and ₹2 lakh in urban areas.
  • Landholding below 3.5 acres of wet land or 7.5 acres of dry land.

II. Antyodaya Food Security Card (AFSC/AAY)

Step 1: Go to the official EPDS Telangana website.

Step 2: Click on the 'FSC Search' option on the homepage.

Step 3: Under the ‘Ration Card Search’, click on ‘FSC Search’. 

Step 4: You can check the status using one of the following details- FSC Reference Number, Ration Card Number and Old Ration Card Number.

Step 6: The status of your ration card will appear on the screen.

Ration Card Download Telangana 

Citizens can now download their Telangana ration cards online as an e-Ration Card, which holds the same validity as the original document. Follow these steps for TS ration card download:

Step 1: Visit the official DigiLocker website to access your digital ration card Telangana.

Step 2: If you are a new user, sign up by providing your name, mobile number, and date of birth, etc., and confirm via OTP. If you already have an account, simply log in.

Step 3: After logging in, type ‘Food and Civil Supplies Department, Telangana’ in the search bar and click on ‘Search’.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Food and Civil Supplies Department, Telangana’ tab and then on ‘Ration Card’ option.

Step 5: Enter your ration card number and district. Click on ‘Get Document’ to access your card.

Step 6: Your e-Ration Card will appear in the ‘Issued Documents’ section. Click on download icon to download the PDF of your ration card. This digital version is valid and is an official equivalent to the physical ration card. 

How to Add and Remove Name from Ration Card in Telangana?

Managing your Telangana ration card details, such as adding or removing a name, can be done through a streamlined process provided by the Telangana government. Below are the detailed steps for both name removal and addition in ration card Telangana:

I. Name Addition

Step 1: Navigate to the MeeSeva portal

Step 2: Under the ‘Downloads’ tab, select ‘Application Forms’. 

Step 3: Click on ‘Civil Supplies’ and click on the ‘Corrections in Food Security Card’.

Step 4: The application form will be downloaded. Take a printout of the form. 

Step 5: Fill it out carefully with accurate details.

Step 6: Attach supporting documents and a recent passport-sized photograph.

Step 7: Submit the form and the relevant documents, such as an Aadhaar card, birth certificate or marriage certificate, to the MeeSeva centre.

II. Name Removal

Step 1: Head to your nearest MeeSeva centre to request the form for the removal of a family member from your ration card.

Step 2: Fill it out carefully with accurate details.

Step 3: Attach supporting documents and a recent passport-sized photograph.

Step 4: Submit the completed deletion form, photo, and proof documents for the member whose name needs to be removed to the MeeSeva centre.

Telangana Ration Card Grievance Portal 

Individuals can submit their grievances and complaints regarding Telangana ration cards through the Telangana Government Grievance portal. Follow the steps below to lodge complaint and grievances regarding your ration card Telangana:

Step 1: Visit the official EPDS Telangana website.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Grievance Redressal System for E2E PDS’ option on the homepage.

Step 3: You will be redirected to the Telangana Grievance Redressal Portal. On the homepage, click on the ‘Lodge your Grievance’ button.

Step 4: Fill out the application form with the required information and describe your complaint.

Step 5: Click on the ‘Submit’ button. The respective authorities will take up and address your issue.
