The Andhra Pradesh (AP) Chief Minister announced that the Deepam scheme will be launched on the occasion of Diwali, i.e., 31 October 2024. This scheme will greatly help poor and BPL household women as they get free gas cylinders in a year, which will help them save money.
Though the scheme will be implemented on 31 October, advance gas booking will begin from 24 October 2024. Read on to know more about the AP Deepam or Free Gas Cylinder scheme, its eligibility, and the application process.
The AP government is all set to launch the AP Deepam scheme or the Free Gas Cylinder scheme to provide eligible households with three free gas cylinders in a year. This scheme aims to reduce the financial burdens of families by providing LPG cylinders. It promotes cleaner cooking methods and helps households avoid traditional fuels like firewood.
Through this scheme, women are relieved from the difficulty of cooking with firewood as they receive free LPG cylinders. This will help enhance their health as they can access safe and efficient cooking fuel.
The AP Chief Minister has announced that gas booking under the AP Free Gas Cylinder will start from 24 October 2024. However, free cooking gas cylinder distribution to eligible women citizens will start from 31 October 2024.
