How to Add a Beneficiary in ICICI Bank?

ICICI Bank is one of the popular private banks in India that offers several products and services to its customers. It permits its customers to make financial transactions through Internet banking, mobile application and fund transfer options like Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT), etc. It is necessary that you add a beneficiary to your bank account to conduct such transactions.

If you have an ICICI Bank account and want to transfer funds using the iMobile Pay App, you must add a beneficiary to the account. You can follow these simple steps to add a beneficiary:

Step 1: Download the ICICI mobile banking application and enter your credentials to log in to the application. 

Step 2: Click the ‘Send Money’ option visible on the homepage.

Step 3: A new page will open where you will see two options. Click the ‘Transfer Within India’ option and select the ‘Add/Manage Payee’ option. 

Step 4: After that, a new page will open, showing the ‘Add Payee’ option. On this page, you will see two options, ‘ICICI Bank’ and Other Bank’.

Step 5: If you wish to transfer funds to ICICI Bank, you must select the ‘ICICI Bank’ option; otherwise the ‘Other Bank’ option.

Step 6: Enter the required information, like the beneficiary’s account number, IFSC code, name of the beneficiary and type of account, ‘Savings’ or ‘Current’. 

Step 7: Click the ‘Proceed’ option and confirm the entered account details. If everything is fine, click the ‘Submit’ option, and you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. 

Step 8: Enter the OTP, and a fresh page will open where you can enter the amount you want to transfer. If you wish to transfer funds to an ‘Other Bank’ account, select the transfer type from the options: ‘NEFT’, ‘IMPS’ or ‘RTGS’. 

Step 9: Write a remark for the transfer of funds, such as ‘Bill Payment’ or ‘Family’ and click on the ‘Proceed’ option.

Step 10: Lastly, you can check the beneficiary name in your ICICI Bank account in the ‘ICICI Bank’ or ‘Other Bank’ category.

How to Add a Beneficiary in ICICI Bank Net Banking?

If you wonder how to add beneficiaries to ICICI net banking, you can follow these hassle-free steps:

Step 1: Visit the ICICI net banking portal and log in with your credentials.

Step 2: The dashboard will open from where you must click the ‘Transfer and Bill Pay’ option.

Step 3: Click the ‘Manage Payee’ option and choose the ‘Add/Payee Biller’ option.

Step 4: It will direct you to the beneficiaries' page, where you must select the ‘BENE’ option and click on the ‘+ Add Beneficiary’ choice.

Step 5: Add beneficiaries from the ICICI Bank or Other Banks.

Step 5: Enter the beneficiary details, like IFSC, account number and name and click the ‘Validate Payee’ button.

Step 6: The validate payee box window will open from where you can select the beneficiary account.

Step 7: A validation amount of Rs. 5 will be deducted from your account for payee validation.

Step 8: Give your approval to debit the amount and check the payee’s account name.

Step 9: Enter the other required details of the beneficiary and click the ‘Add Beneficiary’ option.

Step 10: Provide the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click ‘Confirm Details’.

How Much Time It Takes to Add a Beneficiary in ICICI Bank?

Once you have submitted your request to add a beneficiary to ICICI Bank, the bank takes 30 minutes to accept your request. After that, you can transfer funds to the beneficiary through IMPS, RTGS or NEFT.
