An e-PAN card is a digital PAN (Permanent Account Number) card that can be used as proof of identification. It is easier and more convenient to use an e-PAN card than a physical PAN card, as it can be stored digitally. You will receive the e-PAN card in your email after you apply for it. However, you can also download your e-PAN card in various ways, store it digitally and use it wherever a PAN card is required.
After applying for the e-PAN card, you can download it once it is generated. Usually, the e-PAN card will be generated and allotted after 15 days of its application on the NSDL or UTIITSL website. The instant e-PAN card applied on the Income Tax website will be generated within 10 minutes of its application.
However, please note that you can download the e-PAN card from the NSDL website only when you have applied for it on the NSDL website. Similarly, you can download the e-PAN card from the UTIITSL website only when you have applied for it on the UTIITSL website. The instant e-PAN card applied on the Income Tax website can be downloaded only through the Income Tax e-Filing website.
