If there is insufficient balance, HDFC Bank charges a declined transactions fees in the cases where transactions are declined at other bank ATMs located anywhere in the world. It is also applicable to any merchant outlet or website operating outside India. The declined transaction charge in this case is Rs. 25, along with applicable taxes for each transaction.
HDFC Bank provides transaction limits at ATMs for different account holders. HDFC Bank provides unlimited free transactions for a few account while it imposes a transaction limit on other account types. It charges a withdrawal fee for withdrawals beyond the free limits.

HDFC Bank provides provides a limit on ATM withdrawal transactions for each type of account. The cash withdrawal charges from an ATM beyond the free limits is Rs. 21 per transaction with taxes for each transaction.
The transaction charges applicable for HDFC debit cards at respective ATMs are free when done within the prescribed limits. However, the transaction changes beyond the free prescribed limit for each account type is Rs. 21 per transaction.

These account holders also have to pay a withdrawal fee for cash withdrawals at ATM of Rs. 21 + taxes beyond the free transaction limits and pay fees for non-fincnacial transactions of Rs. 8.50 + taxes at ATMs beyond the free limits.
HDFC Bank provides 5 free transactions at home ATMs and Non-Metro ATMs for salary account and 3 free transactions at Metro ATMs.
