How to Unblock SBI Credit Card Online?

You can unblock SBI credit cards online only when your cards are blocked due to a default in payment of the card amount or when you have exhausted the credit limit. Follow the steps below to learn how to unblock your SBI credit card through the bank’s online portal:

Step 1: Log in to the SBI Card website. If you are a first-time user, click on ‘Register Now’ and register on the website to log in.

Step 2: Click ‘Pay Now’ and make the payment pending on your card.

Your card will be unblocked once the default/pending payment is made.

How to Unblock SBI Credit Card Offline?

You can unblock your SBI credit card offline by visiting the nearest SBI branch. When your SBI credit card is blocked due to a default in payment of the card amount or when you have exhausted the credit limit, you can pay the default/pending payment at the bank branch to unblock it.

When your card is blocked due to suspicious activities, you need to talk with the branch manager and follow the prescribed procedure, which usually involves submitting the required application, documents and declaration to unblock it.

How to Unblock SBI Credit Card Due To KYC?

State Bank of India requires you to submit a few documents for your KYC verification while approving a credit card. However, failure to submit these documents might lead the bank to block or deactivate your credit card temporarily.

To unblock your SBI credit card, which is blocked due to the non-receipt of KYC documents, you must submit the following documents to activate your card:

  • One recent passport-sized photo, which should be self-attested.
  • Copy of Form 60 or self-attested PAN card.
  • Copy of your current residential address that should also be self-attested. Documents like your driver's licence, Voter ID, Aadhaar card, job card by NREGA duly signed by a State Government officer, and passport can be submitted as your address proof.
  • A signed KYC renewal declaration form.
  • Copy of self-attested UID or Aadhaar card.

You can use the following modes to submit the documents to SBI for KYC verification:

  1. Mail the scanned copies of the documents mentioned above to customercare@sbicard.com from your registered email ID.

  2. If you are sending hard copies of documents, post them to the address below:
    "Manager- Customer Care Services,
SBI Cards & Payment Services Ltd.,
DLF Infinity Towers, Tower C, 12th Floor,
Block 2, Building 3, DLF Cyber City,
    Gurgaon -122002 (Haryana)"

  3. You can also upload these documents by logging into to the SBI Card website, go to ‘My Account’ and then to ‘Submit KYC Documents’.

How to Unblock SBI Credit Card Via Email?

You can choose to unblock your SBI credit card via email by sending a grievance mail to SBI's ‘Write to Us’ section. Below are the steps to unblock your SBI credit card via email

Step 1: Log in to the SBI Card website.

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Email Us’ page.

Step 3: Provide the required details, like your card number, full name, registered mobile number, and email ID.

Step 4: Choose your respective category and sub-category to register your query.

Step 5: Enter your query and request bank authorities to unblock your credit card.

How to Unblock SBI Credit Card Through SMS?

You cannot unblock your SBI credit card by sending an SMS. You must pay your credit card's outstanding or default amount through the SBI Card website or by visiting your bank branch to unblock it.

However, you can find out the outstanding balance on your SBI credit card by following the below process:

  • On your mobile, type ‘BAL<space>Last four digits of your credit card’.
  • Send this message to 5676791
  • You will receive the outstanding amount on your credit card, which you need to pay to reactivate your credit card.

How to Unblock SBI Credit Card by Message?

Besides the above steps, you can also submit a written application/letter to SBI's manager of the branch where you have an account. Your application must enumerate the conditions that resulted in the temporary deactivation of your credit card. Also, mention your queries regarding the unblocking process and your request to re-activate your credit card.

Keep your card and sensitive information safe to avoid instances of theft and misuse of your SBI credit card. Also, pay your dues on time to maintain a good credit score. Missing repayment of dues consistently can lead the bank to block your card. This can obstruct your online transaction process and burden your finances in the long run.

You can follow the detailed procedure mentioned above to know how to unblock your SBI credit card conveniently with the method of your choice.
