A Haryana domicile certificate indicates that an individual is a resident of Haryana state. The state government issues the domicile certificate Haryana to the citizens based on their continuous residence in Haryana. The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of the concerned sub-division or the deputy commissioner of the concerned district issues the domicile certificate.
Eligible applicants can apply for a Haryana domicile/resident certificate online or offline.
Step 1: Visit the SARAL Haryana portal.
Step 2: Click on the ‘New user? Register here’ option on the homepage.
Step 3: Fill in the Registration form details and click the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 4: Log in to the SARAL Haryana portal by entering the User ID and Password.
Step 5: Click the ‘Apply for Services’ option from the ‘Menu’ bar.
Step 6: Search for the ‘Haryana Resident Certificate’ option from the list and click the ‘Apply’ button.
Step 7: Fill in the details, upload the required documents and click ‘Submit’.
Step 8: After submitting the application, applicants will get an ‘Application Reference ID’, which is required to check the application status.
Applicants can collect the domicile certificate application form from their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or the Tahsildar office. They must fill out the application, attach the required documents and submit the form. The respective authorities will verify the form and documents and provide an ‘Application Reference ID’.

Applicants can also check the domicile certificate status through SMS. Applicants must type ‘SARAL’ and send it to ‘9954699899’ to track the application status from the registered mobile.
When the mobile number is not registered on the SARAL Haryana portal, applicants can send ‘SARAL<space><Application ID/Ticket No.>’ and send it to 9954699899 to track the application status from any mobile number.
The Haryana domicile certificate is valid for lifelong.
It takes around seven working days for the state government to issue the domicile certificate in Haryana.
