As per the new EPFO rules, you can link your Aadhaar with UAN account through your employer in two situations:
1. Where your Aadhaar details match with UAN records
When your name, gender and date of birth match in both Aadhaar and EPFO records, your employer can approve the Aadhaar KYC request through the EPFO employer portal.
2. Where there is mismatch between Aadhaar and UAN details
The new EPFO rules streamlines the Joint Declaration (JD) mechanism for cases where the UAN and Aadhaar details do not match or when a wrong Aadhaar has been linked.
If your Aadhaar and UAN details do not match, you must first correct the EPFO records through the Joint Declaration facility.

Step 2: Click 'Manage' and select 'Joint Declaration'.
Step 3: Select the Member ID and update the incorrect details.
Step 4: Upload the required supporting documents.
Step 5: Submit the request for employer approval.
Step 6: After EPFO updates the records, retry Aadhaar linking.
2B. Offline Joint Declaration
If your employer is closed or unavailable, submit the Joint Declaration form along with the supporting documents at the EPFO office. The request will be processed after verification by the authorised EPFO officials.
