Latest Update:
The EPFO had prolonged the UAN-Aadhaar linking deadline until April 2023. Those who missed the deadline could have still opted for linking by March 2024. Individuals can opt to link these two either online or offline, based on their convenience.
If you want to withdraw funds from your PF account, it is important to link your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) account with your Aadhaar number. This is one of many benefits of linking your EPF account with your Aadhaar number. Just like how Aadhaar number recognises an Aadhar card, Universal Account Number (UAN) identifies an EPF account.
Linking your Aadhaar with the Provident Fund (PF) account is now mandatory.
Linking aadhaar to UAN will facilitate faster withdrawals and a quick transfer process. But to avail these faster services, it is important that your details are verified by your employer. After submitting, you can check for these details under the 'pending KYC' option.
If you want to file an online claim of your EPF, then it is mandatory to seed your UAN with Aadhaar. Also, your employer will be able to file Employee-cum-Return (ECR) challans and deposit funds to your EPF account only if your PF account is linked to your Aadhaar card.
The linking can be done either online on the EPFO portal or offline.

Step 2: Click on ‘Manage’ on the top panel and then on ‘KYC’
Step 3: On the next page, under the ‘Add KYC’ tab, provide your bank, PAN, Aadhaar and passport details. Then click on ‘submit’. After submitting, you can find these details under the ‘Pending KYC’ tab. Once approved by the employer (which would generally take 15 days), it will be shown under the ‘Approved KYC’ tab.
Linking your Aadhaar to the EPF account will help in a faster withdrawal and transfer process. For that, the present employer should have approved and verified the KYC, including the employee’s Aadhaar details.
