An Aadhaar Card is considered one of the most important documents that works as identity proof in almost all spheres. It comes with a 12-digit unique identification number issued by the UIDAI. Hence, it is a mandatory document that every citizen of India must have.
To apply for an Aadhaar Card, one needs to visit the enrollment centre and submit all necessary documents. However, if you want to get an Aadhaar Card without documents, keep reading this blog to find out.
Individuals who do not yet have Aadhaar must apply for it at the earliest. If you do not have the necessary documents for the process, you can use them with the help of an introducer who the UIDAI should authorise.
Go through the following steps to learn how you can do that:
Step 1: Visit your nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre. You can find it from the official website of the UIDAI.
Step 2: Proceed to go to an authority member and request an Aadhaar enrolment form.
Step 3: Fill in the form carefully, mentioning all the required details.
Step 4: The Registrar of Regional Offices of Aadhaar notifies and identifies introducers responsible for authenticating Aadhaar enrollment forms. You need to get your form authenticated by one of such members.
Step 5: Submit the filled Aadhaar enrollment form to the executive at the enrollment centre. The introducer shall check your form to ensure no incorrect information is filled in.
Step 6: After this, you must provide your biometric data, including your fingerprints, iris scan and photo.
Step 7: You will then receive an acknowledgement slip with the application number. You can use this number to track the status of your application.
Once your application is processed, it will be sent to your registered address within 90 days of submitting the Aadhaar enrolment form.
Individuals can apply for an Aadhaar Card even when they do not have essential documents like PoA, proof of address and PoI or proof of identity. It can be done if their names are on the family's entitlement documents, such as a ration card.
In this case, the head of the family must have valid identity and address proof documents. That person needs to enrol for an Aadhaar Card first, after which they can add their family members during the enrolment process.
Therefore, if you wish to apply for an Aadhaar card without any supporting documents, you need to visit the Aadhaar enrolment centre along with the head of your family. The HoF (Head of the Family) must submit their valid documents to process your application. You must also submit the necessary documents to prove your relationship with the HoF, which should include the names of both parties.
According to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), you can submit any one of the following documents as a valid proof of relationship:
Whenever an individual does not possess their own PoA or proof of address and PoI or evidence of identity, they can apply for an Aadhaar Card with the help of an introducer. Enrolling for an Aadhaar Card through an introducer is essential since the Registrar's authorised members receive the applications of people who do not have supporting documents to process their applications.
The introducer must be present in the Aadhaar enrollment centre while people receive applications without documents. Such enrolments are categorised as introducer-based enrolments. It is also important to note that the introducer and the HoF must validate the identity and address of the person they are vouching for. Both of their signatures are required in the application form for an Aadhaar Card.
An Aadhaar introducer is an individual who has been notified and identified by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) registrar or regional office. An introducer is also a person who is over 18 years old and has an international record. Introducers can be the Registrar's employees, such as postmen, healthcare workers, teachers, Anganwadi workers, local NGO representatives, elected local body members, or doctors.
The primary task of an introducer is to introduce, ensure, and verify the identity of an Aadhaar applicant when they do not have any supporting documents to process their application. The UIDAI appoints introducers to simplify the process of Aadhaar applications for people without valid documents. Every introducer is linked to a particular Registrar, and the introducer is allowed to introduce residents within the Registrar's jurisdiction.
Some of the primary responsibilities of an Aadhaar introducer include the following:
