The Aadhaar enrollment form is an application form required in the first step in registering for your Aadhaar card. To apply for an Aadhaar card, you would need to fill out the Aadhaar enrollment form and submit it to your nearest Aadhaar centre along with the required documents. 

Types of Aadhaar Enrollment Form

There are various types of Aadhaar enrollment forms depending on the resident status and minor status of an individual. You need to fill out the form that is suitable for you. Here are the list of Aadhaar enrollment forms:

  • Form 1: Aadhaar enrollment form for residents and NRIs having proof of address in India.
  • Form 2: Aadhaar enrollment form for NRIs having proof of address outside India.
  • Form 3: Aadhaar enrollment form for resident children and NRI children having proof of address in India aged above 5 years but below 18 years.
  • Form 4: Aadhaar enrollment form for NRI children aged above 5 years but below 18 years having proof of address outside India.
  • Form 5: Aadhaar enrollment form for resident children and NRI children having proof of address in India aged below 5 years.
  • Form 6: Aadhaar enrollment form for NRI children aged below 5 years having proof of address outside India.
  • Form 7: Aadhaar enrollment form for other resident foreign nationals.
  • Form 8: Aadhaar enrollment form for other resident foreign nationals aged below 18 years.

How to Fill an Aadhaar Enrollment Form?

If you do not have an Aadhaar card yet, you can simply fill out an Aadhaar enrollment form to obtain your Aadhaar card. Here are the steps you can follow while filling out your Aadhaar enrollment form:

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI’s official website.

Step 2: Navigate to ‘My Aadhaar’ and click on the ‘Enrolment and Update Forms’ option under ‘Downloads’.

Step 3: Choose the type of form based on your residence and age. The Aadhaar enrollment form PDF will appear on your screen. Click the ‘Download’ icon on the right-hand side of the screen to download it.

Step 4: Fill in all the necessary details on the form.

Step 5: Attach the required documents along with your fully filled Aadhaar enrollment form.

Step 6: Locate your nearest Aadhaar enrollment centre or Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Visit this place and submit the filled enrollment form with copies of the required documents and photographs to a representative.

Step 7: The representative will take your biometrics, such as fingerprints and iris scans. 

Step 8: The representative will provide an acknowledgement receipt containing the enrolment ID, which you can use to check your Aadhaar enrollment status.

Details to be Filled in an Aadhaar Enrolment Form

Listed below are the important details required to fill out an Aadhaar enrollment form: 

Purpose - Select ‘Enrollment’ for first-time enrollment to Aadhaar. Select ‘Update’ to update details in your Aadhaar card.

Full name - Enter your full name, i.e., first name, middle name, and last name. The name must be the same as given in your proof of identity document.

Gender - Specify your gender: Male, Female, or transgender.

Date of Birth - Provide your date of birth in the format DD/MM/YYYY (date-month-year). 

Age - Specify your exact age.

Email - Provide your email address.

Mobile number - Provide your active mobile number. This number will be the registered number for Aadhaar purposes and it will be linked with your Aadhaar number.  

Basis of enrollment - Select ‘Document verification’ for individual application or ‘Confirmation by Head of Family (HoF)’ for Head of Family-based enrollment.

Address - Enter the postal address on the form as specified in the address proof. You must know that the card will be delivered to the same address you provide in this field. 

Type of documents presented - Specify the ID proof documents you will attach to the form as proof of identity, address, and date of birth.

Details and signature of HoF - Enter the details of Head of Family (HoF) based enrollment, such as name, Aadhaar number, relationship with applicant, proof of relationship document and signature of the HoF.

Signature of applicant - Sign the document at the designated area on the form to show your consent. Alternatively, you can also place your thumb impression. 

Date and Time - Enter the time and date of filling out the enrollment form.

How to Check the Aadhaar Enrolment Status?

Once you have successfully submitted your Aadhaar enrollment form, you can track the status by following the steps listed below:

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI’s official website.

Step 2: Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ and then ‘Check Aadhaar Status’ under ‘Get Aadhaar’.

Step 3: On the next tab, click on ‘Check Enrollment and Update Status’.

Step 4: Enter the enrollment number available on your acknowledge receipt, fill in the Captcha code and then click on ‘Submit’.

Now, the status of your Aadhaar enrollment will appear on your screen.

What is the Aadhaar Enrollment Update Form?

The ‘Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Form’ is an official form issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to enroll for an Aadhaar card or update the Aadhaar card details. The same form can be used to enroll or update an Aadhaar card. However, to make updates or corrections to their existing Aadhaar information, the applicants must fill in the ‘For update, additional information’ section on the form.

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI’s official website.

Step 2: Navigate to ‘My Aadhaar’ and click on the ‘Enrolment and Update Forms’ option under ‘Downloads’.

Step 3: Based on your residence status and age, choose the correct type of form. Click on the form and download it by clicking the ‘Download’ icon on the right-hand side of the screen.

Step 4: Fill in all the necessary details on the form, attach the required documents and visit the nearest Aadhaar enrollment centre or Aadhaar Seva Kendra. 

Step 5: Submit the enrollment and update form and photographs to a representative.

Step 6: Provide the biometrics, such as fingerprints and iris scans and pay the required fee for the update.

Step 7: The representatives will provide you with the acknowledgement slip containing the Service Request Number (SRN), which you can use to track the status of your update.

Applying for an Aadhaar card is easy. How long does updating the Aadhaar card through enrolment centres take?

Usually, it takes around 30 days from the date of enrolment to generate your Aadhaar. After verification, the Aadhaar card is either mailed to the applicant’s address or can be downloaded online from the UIDAI portal.
