Here is a detailed step-by-step procedure on how to transfer a Voter ID card after marriage:
Step 1: Visit the National Voter’s Service Portal (NVSP) portal.
Step 2: Click on ‘Login’ and enter your credentials to log into the NVSP portal.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Fill Form 8’ option under the ‘Shifting of residence/ correction of entries in existing electoral roll’ tab.
Step 4: Select ‘Self’. Your EPIC number will be displayed on the screen. Click ‘Submit’.
Step 5: Your Voter details will be displayed. Click ‘OK’. Next, select the ‘Shifting of Residence’ option, select ‘Within Assembly Constituency’ or ‘Outside Assembly Constituency’ and click ‘Ok’.
Step 6: Fill out Form 8 with all the required details. Select the state, district and assembly or parliamentary constituency. Next, enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number and email. Next, enter your new address and upload the address proof document. Enter the declaration and captcha code and click ‘Preview and Submit’.
Step 7: Preview the filled Form 8 and click ‘Submit’.
Once you submit Form 8, you will receive a message on your registered mobile number or email ID with the reference number of your application. You can collect the new Voter ID within the next few days from the respective electoral office or download the new digital Voter ID from the NVSP portal.
Here is a detailed guideline on how you can change your election card after marriage:
Step 1: Visit the National Voter’s Service Portal (NVSP) portal.
Step 2: Click on ‘Login’ and enter your credentials to log into the NVSP portal.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Fill Form 8’ option under the ‘Shifting of residence/ correction of entries in existing electoral roll’ tab.
Step 4: Select ‘Self’. Your EPIC number will be displayed on the screen. Click ‘Submit’.
Step 5: Your Voter details will be displayed. Click ‘OK’. Next, select the ‘Correction of Entries in Existing Electoral Roll’ and click ‘Ok’.
Step 6: Enter the required information on Form 8, including your state, district and assembly or parliamentary constituency, Aadhaar number, mobile number and email ID. Select the details to be changed in your Voter ID, such as name, gender, date of birth, relation type, relatives’ name, address, mobile number or photo.
Step 7: Upload the supporting document proof for the requested change.
Step 8: Enter the declaration and captcha code and click ‘Preview and Submit’.
Step 9: Preview the filled Form 8 and click ‘Submit’.
Once the application is processed and verified successfully, a message will be sent to your registered mobile number and email ID. After this, you can collect the new Voter ID after marriage from your respective local election office or download it from the NVSP portal.
