An Aadhaar card update allows you to update both demographic and biometric details based on your requirements. UIDAI provides the option to update Aadhaar card online for certain demographic details.

Below we are providing the list of some documents required to update Aadhaar card online and offline:
You can update Aadhaar card online through the myAadhaar portal or the official Aadhaar App, depending on the type of update you want to make. While the myAadhaar portal allows address and document updates, the Aadhaar App also supports eligible mobile number updates using Face Authentication.
The last date to upload Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents for free on the myAadhaar portal is 14 June 2027. If an individual does not update their documents before 14 June 2027, they will need to pay a fee of ₹50 for online updates on the myAadhaar portal or ₹75 for updates at a physical Aadhaar Seva Kendra/Enrolment Centre.
Step 1: Visit the myAadhaar website.
Step 2: Click 'Login', enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code, and click 'Login with OTP'.
Step 3: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click 'Login'.
Step 4: Select the type of update you want to make:
Step 5: Enter or verify the required details, upload the supporting document(s) and click 'Next'.
Step 6: Preview the updated details, pay the applicable fee (if any) and click 'Submit'.
Step 7: Save the generated Service Request Number (SRN) or download the acknowledgement receipt to track the status of your update request.
After verification by UIDAI, you can check the status of your request using the SRN on the myAadhaar portal.
You can also update your Aadhaar address and mobile number through the official Aadhaar App. The app uses Face Authentication to verify your identity before processing the update request.
Step 1: Download and open the official Aadhaar App and log in using your 6-digit PIN.
Step 2: Go to the Services section and select Address Update.
Step 3: Choose one of the available address update methods:
Step 4: Review the updated address details and submit the request.
Step 5: Download the acknowledgement receipt containing the Service Request Number (SRN) to track your application status.
Step 1: Open the Aadhaar App and complete Face Authentication.
Step 2: Select Mobile Number Update under the Services section.
Step 3: Enter the new mobile number and complete the required OTP verification.
Step 4: Complete Face Authentication and pay the applicable fee.
Step 5: Save the generated SRN to track the request.
Note:
You can update all demographic and biometric details by visiting an authorised Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK). You can also book an appointment online through the myAadhaar portal to reduce waiting time at the centre.
Follow the steps below for Aadhaar card update offline:
Step 1: Locate your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Seva Kendra through the UIDAI website or myAadhaar portal. If available, book an appointment online for your preferred date and time.
Step 2: Carry the original supporting documents required for the type of Aadhaar update you want to make, such as:
Step 3: Fill out the Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Form and submit it along with the required documents to the operator.
Step 4: The operator will verify your details, scan your original documents and capture your biometrics (if required). Your original documents will be returned immediately after scanning.
Step 5: Pay the applicable update fee and collect the acknowledgement receipt containing the Update Request Number (URN) or Service Request Number (SRN). You can use this number to track the status of your Aadhaar update request online.
Once your request is verified and approved by UIDAI, you can download the updated e-Aadhaar from the myAadhaar portal or use the URN/SRN to check the status of your Aadhaar card update request.
