A domicile certificate certifies an individual's residential status within a state or Union Territory. You can use this certificate to avail different services provided by the state government, such as job placements, admissions and more.

The Government of Goa issues a domicile certificate to individuals who reside in Goa. It is a legal document that helps to prove your residency in Goa.  It acts as verification of their residency and eligibility for numerous state government privileges and employment opportunities. The Deputy Collector or Sub-Divisional Officer issues the domicile certificate in Goa.

  • You can only apply for a domicile certificate if you have permanent residence in Goa.
  • If a female applicant, not originally from Goa, gets married to a man who has a permanent residence in Goa, she will be eligible to apply for the certificate.

How to Apply Domicile Certificate Online in Goa?

You can apply for a domicile certificate in Goa either online or offline.

How to Get a Domicile Certificate Online in Goa?

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Government of Goa.

Step 2: Click the 'Register' option, enter your mobile number and email ID, and click the tab ‘Generate OTP’ button.

Step 3: Enter the OTP and click the ‘Submit OTP’ button. Enter your name, select the 'I agree' option, and click the ‘Validate' tab.

Step 4: Enter other details to complete the registration process and click ‘Register/Signup’.

Step 5: After successfully registering yourself, a confirmation message will be sent to your mobile and email ID. Select the 'Click here to log in' option to go to the login page.

Step 6: Enter your valid credentials and click ‘Login’. Click on the ‘Services’ tab and select the ‘All Services’ option from the drop-down menu.

Step 7: Under the ‘Revenue’ section, select ‘More’ and click the ‘Domicile Certificate' option.

Step 8: Choose your district from the drop-down menu and select the ‘Proceed to Apply’ tab.

Step 9: You will be taken to the application form, where you need to enter all valid details. Click the ‘Save’ option after you fill up this form.

Step 10: Upload the necessary documents and submit your application.

You will receive an acknowledgement slip after successfully submitting your application; you can use it for future references.

To apply for a domicile certificate offline, visit the Revenue Department, Tehsildar, Sub-Magistrate or District Collector’s office and collect an application. You should fill up the form, attach the required documents and submit it with all necessary documents to the office where you collected it from. 

Documents Required for Domicile Certificate in Goa

These are the documents necessary to apply for a domicile certificate in Goa: 

  • Identity proof 
  • Residential proof (issued by local administrator's office, driving licence, government ID card, passport, defence ID card, ration card or PAN card)
  • Age proof (birth certificate or school certificate)
  • Income proof (salary certificate, income tax return, or income proof from any competent authority)
  • Duly signed education records
  • Certification from two different gazetted officers (as required)
  • Aadhaar card
  • Receipt of land revenue
  • Affidavit on a Rs. 20 stamp paper

How Many Days Are Required to Get Domicile Certificate in Goa?

After you apply for the domicile certificate, the concerned authorities will issue a domicile certificate approximately five days from the day of application.

Nonetheless, if you submit your application in person, you may have to wait up to 15 days to receive a domicile certificate in Goa.

How to Check Domicile Certificate Status in Goa?

You can easily check the status of your Goa domicile certificate application online by following the below steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Government of Goa.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Tracking’ tab and click the ‘Track Status’ option. 

Step 3: Select the ‘Department’ as ‘Revenue’, ‘Service’ as ‘Residence Certificate’, enter the acknowledgement number and click on the 'Submit’ button.

The status of your application will be displayed on the screen.

How to Download Domicile Certificate in Goa?

You can download your domicile certificate by following the below steps: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Government of Goa.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Tracking’ tab and click the ‘Verify Certificate’ option. 

Step 3: Select the ‘Department’ as ‘Revenue’, ‘Service’ as ‘Residence Certificate’, enter the certificate number and click the 'Submit’ button.
